ENDURANCE PAR EXCELLENCE IN SERVICE TO HUMANITY

Bhagwan Mahavir Memorial Trust established Mahavir Hospital and Research Centre, the first charitable hospital in the state, in 1978 to serve the poor and underprivileged by charging affordable prices for the last four decades.

Mahavir Hospital and Research Centre began its journey with a group of like-minded individuals from the Jain Community coming together to give shape to their dream of building a healthcare facility that would bring world-class tertiary care to the poor and needy at a price affordable to all, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion. Our vision is to bring the best in healthcare to the twin cities, and our mission is to deliver excellent clinical outcomes with superior patient care in a transparent, safety-first environment for both patients and staff.

Our flagship Hospital and Research Centre began functioning in 1978. We are proud to state that it is the first hospital in the state to have a research centre attached to it. Over the last four decades, we have provided excellent healthcare services and earned recognition from the medical fraternity and researchers across the globe. Mahavir Hospital represents the Jain Community’s vision to carry out humanitarian work in the field of healthcare at an affordable cost.

MHRC is a multi-speciality hospital with renowned doctors. The Centre is recognized by the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research and international bodies such as the World Bank, WHO, and DFID (Department for International Development), UK. Research activities are carried out in Genetics and Immunology, and the Centre is recognized by Osmania University and the University of Hyderabad for awarding PhD degrees for research work conducted here.

The Hospital earned nationwide and international recognition for its contribution to the care of patients with chronic kidney disorders by establishing a Dialysis Centre along with Urology and Nephrology departments. For Tuberculosis research, a dedicated TB Clinic and Research Centre was also established.

Mahavir Hospital was the first hospital in the state to start a dialysis centre for patients suffering from chronic kidney diseases. Today, it is the largest dialysis centre in the state with 63 dialysis machines, performing an average of 3,750 dialysis sessions per month for the poor and needy at Rs. 300 per dialysis, compared to Rs. 2,000–3,000 charged by corporate hospitals.

More than 1,000 kidney transplantation surgeries have been successfully performed at this hospital by the internationally renowned urologist Dr. Saharia, who was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India.

Emergency Ward: The hospital has a fully equipped emergency ward with excellent infrastructure facilities, including four world-class operation theatres fitted with the latest ultra-modern equipment to handle even the most complicated surgeries.
