Bhagwan Mahavir Memorial Trust was driven by a passion to achieve its goal to put modern Medicare facilities within the reach of the common man, established a charitable 220 bedded multispeciality Hospital in the year 1978. We have strived hard to take this hospital to greater heights on par with any corporate hospital in treatment and diagnostic facilities using the latest techniques and sophisticated equipment while charging nominal prices.

Our vision is to bring the best in healthcare in this pearl city and we made it our mission to deliver excellent clinical outcomes with superior patient care in a transparent manner in a safety-first environment for both patients and staff. We soon came to be known for excellent treatment along with superior care. The good service we provided during the last four decades were rewarded by the community and medical fraternity around us. . During the last few years we have brought out see through changes in the hospital set up. We have constructed a world class operation theatre complex with the latest ultra modern equipment to carry out any complicated surgery. Emergency rooms with all sophisticated facilities to admit and attend on patients of any complication at any time(24 X7 hours) are made available at this hospital. Excellent consultation rooms are provided for all clinicians to attend on their patients in a safe and hygienic environment. The Urology and Nephrology departments were strengthened and a well equipped Nephrology ward was started. An awesome 150 seated auditorium was built with all facilities and also linked to operation theatre to witness operations by medical staff and students. This facility is also very useful to train medical and paramedical staff. A new dental wing with experts in all specialities is made available for patients. We have started three pharmacy centres and are running under our control to provide medicines and other requirements at cheaper prices. Special rooms are constructed for patient attendants to rest. A 30 bedded emergency ward with all facilities including latest ventilators and well trained medical and paramedical staff and Physiotherapy department are added to the hospital.

Another feather in the cap of the hospital is the Dialysis Centre with 60Dialysis machines in association with Bhagwan Mahavir Jain Relief Foundation Trust and now we are conducting 3000 dialysis per month to the poor and needy patients free of cost. Our doctors have performed more than 2000 kidney transplantations so far at a very reasonable cost.

Recently,we have added a 40 bedded Covid ward with essential equipment such as latest ventilators, monitors, well equipped beds to cater to the needs of patients with Covid-19 under the care of our dedicated clinicians and health workers and it is running to the full capacity always.

Mahavir Hospital was the First Trust Hospital in Hyderabad to be empanelled in April 2007 under the Aarogyasri Health Insurance Scheme.

The Trust’s efforts to extend world-class healthcare services and engage in numerous philanthropic accolades activities, have earned appreciation, and accolades world wide. Besides, the Trust has also initiated several Training, Community and Rehabilitation Programs to support its endeavors and to further spread the message of healthcare.

The Research Centre of the hospital is strengthened with sophisticated equipment and facilities to take up advanced research in infectious and other multifactorial diseases. Now we are testing the efficacy of vaccine developed by ICMR for TB in our clinical trial to eradicate tuberculosis from this planet . We have tested this vaccine on more than 2500 participants and it was found to be safe.

The research centre is recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) as SIRO (Scientific and Industrial Research Organization) and other funding agencies such as DBT, UGC-CSIR, ICMR and DST. The department of Science and Technology, Govt of India has conferred the centre with the status of Center of Excellence.. Today the centre is involved in cutting edge research. The centre has received enormous grants for research from both National and International Bodies.

Mr. Bill Clinton, President of the United States of America visited Mahavir Hospital in the year 2000 and commended the excellent work carried out by a team of our dedicated doctors under the PPM DOTS programme to diagnose and treat TB..Our PPM(Public Private Mix) DOTS(Directly Observed Treatment Short course) programe is now well known worldwide. The model developed by us is known as the “MAHAVIR MODEL”, is being adopted by many countries. This is indeed an unique recognition.

It is the social consciousness and sense of responsibility that dictates the working model of the Trust, thus operating on a ‘no profit – no loss’ basis.
