Dr. Rupender prasad is one of the senior most gastroenterologist in Telangana state and is the chief gastroenterologist at mahavir hospital and research centre. He has retired as Addl. Director Medical Examination and superintendent at osmania general hospital. He has served as examiner for DM and DNB Gastroenterology.He has served as HOD Gastroenterology at several medical colleges.

He has also trained post graduates in gastroenterology and published over 20 papers in reputed national and international journals.

In the past he has worked as secretary/president indian society of gastroenterology and as chairman of society for study of liver AP chapter.
